You win some, you lose some....
Yes, I'm still talking a little bit about politics. It is all on the news. You can't get away from it. I thought once the voting was over, a President picked that things would calm down on the news show front. BUT... I swear some are having a hard time with the outcome. This morning I hear some newcaster is patting themselves on the back for being so gracious with the loose. I kept hearing "The Democrat's wouldn't be so gracious". Like we have never been on the loosing side? Come on. I think we have dealt with loosing. In the last 28 years the dems have only had 8 of those years.
Another favorite was a blog I read about THEY (ie republicans) will support Obama and not tear him down like the Dems did to Pres. Bush. Personally I thought Bush did a pretty good job messing things up. I think he had most people in his sphere once 9/11 occured. The ball was dropped.
I hope from both side we just work to get this job done. I have heard from so many people that are suffering from money problems (not sure if getting out there and spending MORE money is the answer to that one), loosing jobs and struggling day to day. I think we need to refocus on what is going on around us. My prayers are with everyone.

Where Are These Kids Hearing This Stuff.....
So my 5th grader comes home yesterday saying there are rumors flying around school about Obama. She said most of it was silly but her friends were scared. I asked what they were and what did she say to them.
*Rumor 1: Obama will make all the kids go to school on Saturday and Sunday.
*Rumor 2: He will make their school days longer and they won't have any fun.
and my favorite (I kind of blew the other 2 off with a laugh and just said that change is a hard thing and Obama will not make them go to school like that. But we parents might! LOL)... wait for it......
*Rumor 3: Obama likes Black kids more than White kids.
For the love of all that is Holy... Who is telling them this? Remind me what year we are living in?
So I asked Catherine what she said. She told them that was silly. She also told one of her favorite teachers about the rumors saying the kids were scared. Her favorite teacher said "Let me talk to the teachers, sound like we need an education moment."
And we wonder if Race would be a factor. Why people keep saying "It shouldn't matter that he is Black."... fine but obviously it still does matter. It just made me sad.
