Yesterday She Was Three....

I tree! I tree! What a wonderful number. Being 3. Kids have become this wonderful little person by age 3. The walk, talk, tell you NO!, give you kisses and cheek pats, play, run, laugh, cry, look for bandaids when I get a boo-b00, read a book upside down and so much more. I find it amazing what 3 short years can do for that little blob of human mass that entered this world with nothing but a cry to say "Love Me!". She is child #4. I know my brain will forget some of the things she does but my heart will always remember. So for her birthday, what did we do? We went to the Dr. For a double ear infection and a 102 temp. She still told them all "I tree!". Thankfully at 3 being able to share a Dora cake with a friend that is also sick, opening gifts from a friend that is a country away, and just licking the icing off the cake (cause the "cake is yucky. I like cream!" is as wonderful at turning 3.

Leaving On A Jet plane....

We are going on an airplane. The kids are beside themselves. Andrew, my oldest, is the only one to have flown and he wouldn't remember. We took a lot of plane trips when he was a baby but at 2 years old he landed in Dallas, Texas to never fly again. The question is not if we are ready to fly but if American Airlines is ready for 4 kids from our circus. I convinced them that Daddy and I had first class seats and they had to sit together in coach (oh, a make sure to watch the little ones....). Andrew and Catherine looked apprehensive but willing to do anything to fly on that airplane. ~evil grin~ We may wish to be in first class but we are sitting among the wild ones. I can see it now... "I want to see out the window, NO ME! I was first, My turn!!!"

What was my brother thinking when he said "We would love to have you come visit after Justin is born. AND you can just stay with us!" I know he is excited. I bet he will be just as excited to kiss up goodbye after a week of 6 family members plus him, his wife, their twins and newborn. I can not wait for Tuesday. I know we are all so excited for this visit. So if my dear husband is cracking Airplane jokes we will be humming....

Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I'm ready to go

The bold letters are my changes to that wonderful, stuck in my head song. So pray for us this Tuesday. Pray for American Airlines and that they will let us back on when our week is up. Pray for all the passengers that will have to listen to my kids carry on about how COOL and then BORING the plane trip has become. Pray that my kids will be the angels I know they can be for 7 days straight (bwahahahaha!). Cause we are leaving on a jet plane........

Go, Andrew, Go!

Look at you! You passed your testing and now you are a recommended black belt. In 3 more months you will achieve that goal you set 2 years ago.... The Black Belt! Wow. I was watching you last week walk up for your new belt, watching your face, knowing you will be where you have been planning on in just a short time. I'm proud of you for sticking to your goal. I was remembering when you started in 2004. You were getting ready to test for your orange belt, the first in many. You were so excited until we got in the car and was driving to class. You announced that you didn't think you were ready and wanted to wait. I made you go and talk to your teacher to see what he thought. I stood back as you told him your fears. I watched as he took you through all your orange belt step there in the parking lot. I watched you walk in and do it. You did great. You have gotten better with each belt. I've seen you become so much more confident these last 2 years and I know Taekwondo helped with that. I just want to warn you that I will probably cry when you get your black belt. It's what Moms do when they see their little ones do things that say you aren't so little anymore.

It's All About Their Legs.....

I've been watching my kids grow for 11 1/2 years now. I find each stage amazing (and frustrating at times). They are a wonder to watch. I find myself filing away images in my head of them so I'll have them later.

Andrew had to stretch every time I picked him up when he was a baby. At 2 we got him a fwimsuit with floaties and he would jump off the side of the pool and fwim (not misspelled, how he would say it!). At 5, he started public school with some anxiety but the power of Mom's magic rock got him through (I had given him a shiny rock and told him that when he missed me all he had to do was reach in his pocket and hold the rock and think about me and I would know and close my eyes and think about him... After school I gripped at him cause he almost made me run off the road when I had to close my eyes. He thought that was funny). At 7, he loved his bike and I can see him zooming around the college campus asking me to time him as he rode around. At 9, he started Taekwondo. Watching him do his jump kicks, higher than his head, and board breaks... Amazing. Now he is 11. I went to cover him up during the night and he is close to hanging off the bed. His legs are looking like man legs, muscles and all. Silly me but I started crying (I know I'm pregnant but keep watching their legs and see if you don't!).

Catherine loved her baby swing. It didn't matter what age that first year she would rather be in the swing and swinging her legs. At 3 she wanted to be a ballerina. She was a chubby baby and toddler. I would look at her legs when she started dance and just smile. They looked so cute in pink tights and ballet slippers. At 5 she took off to school without a rock or a look back. She practically danced into class. At 9 I saw her leap across stage and I saw those ballerina legs. I admit I teared up.

Georgia is my knobby kneed child. She loved to stand and lock her knees on my legs. I swear she was a strong one. I don't know how she did it but she loved it and laughed when I tried to sit her down. At 2 I noticed a cafe au lait spot on her leg, an another and another. I never really worried about them until we took her to the doctor for a check up. At 3 she was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis 1. At 5 she still has those knobby knees. She was sitting and playing with playdoh yesterday. Her knees were practically in her face. Where will they take her. And yes, my eyes got watery.

Charlotte was my short stubby baby. Her legs were on the short end of the family. I love seeing the difference in all their baby legs. She is now almost 3. I was watching her run down a hill the other day. There was no hesitation on her part. Just on my side. I'm not ready for those legs to grow up but they did.

Summer Swimming Is The Best....

My kids love the water park. I broke down and bought season passes for this year. I foresee a lot of swimming pictures in the future. Georgia is becoming way to brave in the water which leads Charlotte to follow. No resting or relaxing by the pool for me. ~grins~

I'm afraid they will be waterlogged by the end of the summer but they assure me I'm the best mom ever. Now if I could stop the sun from melting us. Catherine is so fair that she has had blister burns from the sun. She was only out for an hour or so but didn't get enough sunblock. Now she is old enough to do it herself. She knows all about keeping her skin healthy. Sigh. I swear we did not think twice about sunburns when we were kids. My sister LOVED to peel the skin off when it was time.

Here is Andrew in the middle of a jump. Just happened to get this one by luck.
